Yoga & Your Wellbeing

When I completed my yoga training a couple of years ago, I had no idea at the time, how often it would prove useful in my work with acupuncture & reflexology clients.

For clients with injuries or restricted mobility, teaching them gentle yoga postures (asanas) makes a significant difference to their recovery and mobility.

Ancient yogic breathing techniques (pranayama), have proven very useful for managing anxiety or improving the capacity of the lungs in other clients.

And the timeless wisdom of yoga philosophy has helped create a space where clients can enjoy some calm relaxation and gain some perspective in their busy lives.

Testimonial:  “”I went to see Liz for neck pain and nagging ache across shoulders.  Treatment was great and Tu Na massage wonderful.  Now have more range of movement in my neck and constant ache across shoulders has completely gone.”   S.H. – Winchmore Hill, N21

Menopause

The menopause can be a bewildering time with a range of unpleasant symptoms including low-mood, weight-gain, hot flushes and nightsweats.  Quite often, we simply work through it, thinking that our symptoms will eventually calm down.

However, there are supportive therapies such as Acupuncture, Tui Na Chinese Medical Massage and Reflexology that can help you through this transition, reducing physical symptoms and providing emotional support.

From just another ‘hurdle to overcome’, the menopause can become an opportunity to address some lifestyle changes that can have a profound effect on our physical and emotional wellbeing.  For a free consultation, simply give Liz a call or email.

Lifestyle Tip:  To help with nightsweats/hot flushes, reduce or cut out coffee and alcohol and ‘heating foods’ such as chillies and hot spices.  Mint, jasmine and raspberry leaf tea are cooling and keeping hydrated with plenty of water will help.

Workshop in May

Over the years I’ve had the privilege to train with some very inspiring yoga teachers, including Tara Fraser, founder of Yoga Junction in Crouch End.  On May 13th Tara will be teaching a one-day workshop bringing to it her many years of experience and exploration of yoga.  For more information, contact Tara at Yoga Junction.  One to look forward to.

Yoga Classes

Looking forward to starting small, gentle yoga classes (limited to 5 or 6 students) at my home yoga studio in Bounds Green on Thursday November 10th.  In a calm, warm space, the classes will focus on working to improve flexibility and strength at your own pace.  Classes will include a guided relaxation at the end of each class so you leave feeling relaxed.  Beginners are very welcome.
